IT’S SHOW TIME!

Dear SACDV Distributor Member:

Why on earth would your clients want to leave
their cushy air-conditioned offices to come to a trade show – when you can bring it all to them?

Here’s what some distributor members said who
have great success in getting their clients to the show:

“Because I CAN’T bring everything to them. They will come here and see hundreds of things I would never have thought to show them.”

“ Because I give my clients the VIP treatment and invite them to MY show.
They feel special. It gives me so much more to talk about on my next visit.”

“This is an experience economy. I am inviting my clients to an experience
they can’t get anywhere else. Less than 20% of our area ad specialty companies are SACDV members and can invite their clients. To me, that’s an advantage!”

“ It puts my little company in the leagues of the big ones. Come to MY show. See MY 140 exhibitors. I don’t understand why more members DON’T bring more of their clients.”

We don’t either.

Folks, in a few days, there won’t be just a SHOW at the Valley Forge Convention Center – there will be an EVENT – an EXPERIENCE. It’s YOUR experience. All new Decorated to the hilt. Interactive. Fun. More giveaways than ever. Free food. And prizes too. A lot of your membership dues go into creating this experience for your clients.

Use it. Put your best effort into getting your clients there. And you could be
rewarded for it too.

In fact – every distributor firm who brings 10 or more CLIENTS to the Expo is entered into a drawing to receive $100 Road Warrior Bucks – a rebate check form SACDV, just for promoting the show.

Here’s to a busy year for all of us!

Good promoting,
Mary Ellen Hudicka, MAS
Your SACDV Fall Expo Show Chair
P.S. Please pass this message along to your reps.

Cruise
past the registration lines!
Register online and cruise right through to the show –
You AND your clients, too!

Don’t you just love those E-Z pass lanes everywhere today? Same with your new SACDV Expo! You have a zip-through cruisin’ lane when you and your clients Register online before the show.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Visit www.sacdv.org/Register.
  2. Fill in the blanks and double check it
  3. Watch for your bar-coded speed pass confirmation emailed back to you
  4. Print it out, and bring it with you to the show.

That’s it! No waiting with typists. You bypass the line.
Registering your clients:

  1. Once you Register, you will see a link to click on to send out an email invitation to your client –
automatically populated with your company name and 3-digit SACDV member firm number.
  2. Enter in your client’s email Addresses and zap! They receive your invitation.

Or they can go to www.sacdv.org/Register and click on “Client.” (But they must have your 3-digit code
to Register and be linked to YOU) Questions about your 3-digit code? Call the SACDV office at
    610-873-1186 for your number.
What do you say
when you tell clients
about the show?

Everyone is different in how they position the show.
But one thing is consistent… it is the ONLY promotional event of the year for CLIENTS in the entire Eastern PA-NJ-DE market. It happens just once a year. 60,000 different ideas are on display, with promotional experts on hand to share how to design a winning promotion. Free food, free samples. They can’t get that experience ANYWHERE else. It’s worth the trip!
Can we still
Register on-site?

Yes. But you’ll have to wait at the Register On-Site
desk for your information to be entered. Be sure your
staff and clients know your 3-digit member code number
so your company name is listed on their badge as
the firm who invited them. If clients are Registering on site, all they need is:

1) A copy of your filled-in brochure
or
2) Their business card
or
3) They can complete a form on-site.

Bring 10 or more clients and win $100 Road Warrior Bucks!

NEW! Every distributor firm who has 10 or more CLIENTS attend the Expo will be placed in a drawing for $100 “Road Warrior” Bucks – a check for $100 from SACDV for helping us boost attendance. 10 prizes will be drawn to thank YOU for helping us build the show. So, bring a whole crowd and you can win! Winners will be drawn at random from all distributor members who bring 10 or more clients. Sales representatives do not count for this promotion. Clients only. One prize per distributor member firm.

You have access to free flyers

SHOP TIP
Many distributors spend the two days before the show calling their best clients and prospects to remind them about the show because PEOPLE FORGET! So, add it to your to-do list to begin your calls the week of Labor Day!
COMFORT TIP
Wear COMFORTABLE shoes! (Never wear a new pair you haven’t
broken in!) It will be a long day. The more comfortable you are,
the more enjoyable your show experience!

Do’s & Don’ts for your Fall Expo

Distributor DO’s:

Promote the show HEAVILY

• Follow-up with your clients before and after the show
• Wear your company logoed attire, but with a subtle imprint
NO SCREAMING BILLBOARD logos!
• Bring business cards this year to exchange with exhibitors
• Volunteer at least an hour
• Leave the samples for the client guests

Distributor DON’Ts:

DON’T solicit buyers during the show. You wouldn’t want anyone
soliciting YOURS!
•NO handing out business cards to clients in the hall.
• NO wearing or carrying of any blatant promotional products that call
attention to your company, other than a subtle wearable imprint.
• NO distribution of any blatantly large promotional products imprinted
with your logo for your buyers to carry around during the show.
• NO setting up client tailgate parties or other activities in the parking
lot – other than private hospitality suites in the hotel – to detract
clients’ attention from the show
• DON’T put off following up with your clients after the show –
follow up quickly! Strike while the iron is hot!
CONTEST! Exhibitors will be decorating their booths for our Rt 66 show theme. Clients and distributors will vote and 1 winner gets a free booth at the SACDV Expo in 2007. 2 runners up get a free table at the Spring Table Top Show

Do’s & Don’ts for your Fall Expo

Exhibitor DO’s:
  • Ask buyers to write down their favorite products in their notebooks.
  • Talk ONLY coded retail pricing, there are more BUYERS at this show than distributors and reps.
  • Share case histories with clients on how your products work for others.
  • Only collect business cards from distributors or reps – not clients.
Exhibitor DON’Ts:
  • Don’t hand out any business cards to clients. This is strictly enforced.
  • Don’t collect any business cards from CLIENTS. Ask them to write down your line on the notepad for their distributors’ follow up.
  • Don’t hand out any literature that has your company Address or phone number on it. Buyers will be at this show and should call their distributor, not YOU. This is strictly enforced. Exhibitors have been asked to leave the floor when they have persisted handing out
    literature this way.
  • Don’t speak about NET pricing. Only retail coded pricing.
  • Don’t talk about CODES. Buyers will be there.

More FREE gifts & giveaways than ever before!

Just a bag & pen at check-in? No – this year there will be so much more! Giveaways will be stationed throughout the hall, and with many of the exhibitors themselves, so your buyers don’t miss a single great idea! More samples with your buyers mean more potential orders for you!
DID YOU KNOW?
Why do buyers come to the Expo? 95% of them reported
“because of the IDEAS” in last year’s survey of clients. So use this as your hook in inviting clients – tell them the ideas they will see all in one place only come once a year. And you could never bring 60,000 ideas on display to THEIR office.

FREE Food!

VIsit the SACDV diner on the show floor. What kind of food will be available, for FREE?
Light breakfast fare – bagels, Danish & coffee. For lunch – hot dogs, salad and soft pretzels will be vailable free to your clients in the center of the hall throughout the day.

If you wish to treat your clients to a special lunch, you have several restaurant options available to you, at your expense, in the hotel complex.

Are business cards ALLOWED at the show?

Yes, you may exchange business cards with ex-hibitors this year, BUT NOT WITH BUYERS. No business cards are to be distributed to ANY buyer on the show floor – SHOW RULES – strictly enforced. Buyers are NOT to be solicited on the show floor in any way

Client Badges

Here’s how the clients’ badges will read:
Clients who don’t specify a distributor firm will just have
their names listed on their badge, so be sure you ask them
to specify YOU!

“Drive-In” to the New Product Pavilion

Clients get to vote on their favorites and WIN!

As soon as they enter the Drive-in , clients will visit our highly acclaimed New Product Pavilions. They will have a preprinted entry form asking them to vote on their favorite new products of the year:

• Favorite idea under $5
• Favorite idea over $5
• Favorite new apparel item

Three lucky winners will win the pavilions’ treasures. One will win all the under $5 items, one will win the over $5 items, and another will win the apparel products. And YOU get to present the prizes if your
client is the winner!

Your clients will receive a trade show “What I Liked
Best at the Show” notebook and pen at check-in,
and will be asked to write down their favorites while
they walk the show. If they write at least one product they liked in the notebook, they will be entered into the door prize drawing at the end of the show. As clients exit the hall, volunteers will check their notebooks and if they note at least one product, they will be rewarded with a door prize ticket. (Plus thank you parting gifts as well!)

Dozens of door prizes, donated by your exhibiting
suppliers, will be given away. And YOU will be the
one that presents the prize to them – the prize is sent to YOU. What a great way to follow up!

So it’s up to ME to follow-up after the show?

Absolutely. Call or visit each buyer who attended
the show within 2 weeks. Ask them to review their
notebook. It’s all up to you!

How do I know who came?

You’ll receive a list of every buyer who Registered
under your SACDV firm number, as well as all their
registration information, within a week of the show,
to help with your follow-up. You can also check your registrants any time 24-7 online by visiting
www.accureg.com/sacd06/memlistprod.html. Log-in
your 3 digit SACDV member firm number. PASSWORD: EXCLUSIVE (all in caps).

It’s YOUR show!

It’s not OUR show – it’s YOURS. You sponsor it.
YOUR exhibit hall. It’s YOUR vendors. YOUR door prizes. YOUR new products pavilion. YOUR food. Hey, it’s YOUR membership dollars that pay for it. And no one but MEMBERS can attend this year. Talk it up – take ownership of it – go ahead!

Who can come to the Expo?

Only SACDV Member Distributors, staff
and sales representatives, and their
invited clients can attend. istributors, their sales epresentatives and staff who are NOT members cannot attend
this event. It is for members only.
